#Empowering Our Communities: Preparing for the Future of Work

Every year, we look forward to our most significant annual give-back initiative for nonprofits and charities, which we call #Empower

Its mission is to empower nonprofits and charities, small and large, by ensuring they have the knowledge they need to achieve their goals and objectives. We recently hosted #Empower’s fourth virtual event on January 25th, 2023.

💪 Empowering Nonprofits and Charities

To provide some context, #Empower was created in 2019. We recognized that attending in-person events can be expensive and that not all organizations can afford to send a large number of people, so we thought of helping nonprofits and charities in our own unique way. We made this event completely complimentary, with the intention that all organizations should have access to vital information and resources.

Over the last four years, we have continuously refined and improved our approach to hosting #Empower to provide value to nonprofits and charities. By leveraging technology and our experience in the IT industry, we have been able to create an impactful event every year. In previous events, we had keynote speakers (including Ozan Varol, a Rocket Scientist and best-selling author), held 50+ sessions designed for different audiences, had virtual booths and sponsorships available, and provided tangible takeaways for attendees.

empower2023-virtual-conferenceThis year was no exception! We hosted 12 engaging sessions dedicated to the future of work – Boundaryless, Experience-Rich, and Possibility – covering topics such as AI-based cybersecurity, communications for the era of hybrid work, productivity, efficient fundraising, and volunteer management, and we even jumped into the Metaverse!

We believe that the future of work will be more connected, meaningful, and brighter. And with the help of our partners, Microsoft, LineZero, and Meta, we made #Empower2023 a successful virtual event for all involved.

Inviting Nonprofits and Charities to the Future of Work

The age of technology has transformed the way we live, and the workplace is no different. As more people work remotely and with flexibility, the traditional 9 to 5 workday is becoming outdated. And, as our world continues to evolve, so will the future of work.

We invited nonprofits and charities to join us at #Empower to learn about emerging technology and trends, understand how they can be used in their operations, and empower them to prepare for working in the digital era to shape their organization’s future success.

Preparing for the Future of Work

#Empower’s theme this year was “The Future of Work.” Here are three concepts that nonprofits and charities can bring back to their organization to prepare for the future of work:

1. The future of work is boundaryless.

We are not going to be limited by physical spaces. To thrive in the age of hybrid work, where all stakeholders expect to interact and work with each other from anywhere without constraints, organizations will need to adopt and embrace technologies that enable communication, collaboration, and connection. Having the right set of technologies is not optional. It’s a must.

2. The future of work is experience-rich.

We, as humans, seek and deserve positive experiences in our lives. In a world where so many organizations compete for attention, experience is the currency. Quality is no longer optional, and the experience you provide is and should be your differentiator. For nonprofits, the experience you want to curate is two-fold: a) experience for your internal stakeholders (i.e., employees and volunteers) and b) external stakeholders (i.e., donors). Uniquely tailored experiences will ensure loyalty and engagement.

3. The future of work is possibility.

With technological advancement, we have limitless possibilities in front of us. We live in an era where anything is possible, even when faced with limited resources or complex challenges. To be successful in the future, nonprofits and charities must think beyond the obvious. The Metaverse is an excellent example of this, and it is a perfect place to begin exploring possibilities.

Building a Brighter Future of Work

Technology has the potential to transform the way nonprofits and charities operate. But it isn't just about having the most up-to-date tools and processes. It's about knowing how to use them effectively to better serve their missions and stakeholders. By embracing the concepts that the future of work is boundaryless, experience rich, and full of possibility, organizations can use technology to break down barriers, create unique experiences, and discover new opportunities to position themselves for success.

This is why #Empower is so important to us. We shared valuable ideas and tools at #Empower2023 to help nonprofits and charities in creating the brighter future of work to which they aspire. We hope that #Empower2023 inspired nonprofits and charities to initiate new conversations and envision their future of work.

Moreover, the social impact of events like #Empower extends beyond the nonprofit and charitable sectors. We support these organizations' missions as well as the communities they serve. At ProServeIT, we are working to create a more inclusive and connected society in which everyone has access to the resources they require to succeed. #EmpowerWomen is ProServeIT's newest initiative to create a more equitable future of work for women. We believe that this initiative, along with the others we have in development, will enable us to help create a brighter and better future for everyone.
